Call for travel grant applications for ECDP2024

After the great demand for travel grants ahead of ECDP2023, the European Society of Digital and Integrative Pathology (ESDIP) will again have a Travel Grant Program for members to attend ECDP2024 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

ESDIP will provide a limited number of travel grants to applicants whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentation at ECDP2024. For this edition, ESDIP will give out 10 travel grants of up to 500€ each plus free congress registration for participants based in Europe and 5 travel grants of up to 1000€ plus free congress registration for participants based outside of Europe.

Criteria for application

  • The applicant must be a member of ESDIP in good standing and should be the first author of at least one scientific abstract accepted for oral presentation at the meeting.
  • Eligible for the travel grant are physicians, computer scientists, biologists, technicians, medical students, and residents.
  • Preference will be given to young investigators (under 35 years old by the congress dates, 5th - 8th of June 2024) and to applicants from low-income countries.

To apply, send an email to office@ecdp2024.org that includes the applicant’s CV and a supporting letter from a department head or supervisor attesting to the need for travel assistance and the potential benefit of attending the meeting.

Submissions will be evaluated according to the criteria mentioned above and based on the overall quality of accepted abstracts.

Application Deadline

The deadline for applications is Feb. 29th, 2023.

Expenses Covered by the Award

Awardees will be allowed to use the grant for their travel costs, which may include:

  • economy coach fare air travel to and from the meeting location
  • ground transportation (bus, underground, taxi)
  • hotel nights lodging

These costs will be reimbursed right after the Congress with the presentation of receipts and proof of attendance to ECDP2024. The travel grant will not cover meals, baggage fees, or travel itinerary change fees.

Award Allocation

Applicants will be notified of the decisions on March 18th, 2024. Awardees must register for ECDP2024 before the early bird registration deadline of March 23rd, 2024. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the travel grant. Awardees do not need to pay the registration fee. If the awardee has already paid the registration fee, ESDIP will reimburse it together with the travel costs.
